OD Rules and Regulations.
Most of the time after reading my truck driver over dimensional permits, I seem to be scratching head in confusion. Every state differs on their rules and regulations. I have been in operations for 15 years for the life of me cannot figure out why. For instance over sized freight in Illinois cannot move from noon on Saturday until daylight Monday. Maryland you can only move from 9am until 3pm. Depending on you size in Indiana you may not have any restrictions.
Make sure that your truck drivers always read their permits before moving. Hopefully one day all the state will have the same rules and regulations for over dimensional transportation.

Brokers Beware
Lately in the news we have been hearing a lot about freight scams, double brokering and non-payment from dubious brokers, but not a peep about truck driver scams. Over the last 6 months or so there has been an increasing amount of truck driver collecting COD payments and not paying the freight broker. Not only have they been withholding payment, they have also been pickup vehicles then asking for more money before they deliver.
With the recession other brokers double brokering and truck drivers withholding payments it is very easy to see why freight brokers bankruptcies and foreclosures are on the rise.
