Freight, Pipe Quoting

Friday, July 10th, 2009

When quoting pipe for truck transport, here is some information that you will need from the customers for a proper quote and proper flatbed load hauling.
1. You will need the total footage to be loaded.
2. You will need to know the number of pieces to be loaded.
3. You will need to know if the collars are to the front or rear.
4. You will need to know if the pipe is coated or non-coated.
5. You will need to know if it will be pyramided or strip and strap. (coated pipe 9 times out of 10 will be stripped and strap and non-coated pipe go either way)
6. You will need to know the total number of dunnage or timbers needed for stripping
