Here is some freight moving lingo that may help you in the future.

PUP TRAILER – PUP TRAILER IS A 20’ TRAILER PRIMARILY USED IN BY MOTOR FREIGHT CARRIERS.

LOW BOY – DOUBLE DROP TRIALER COULD ALSO REFER TO RGN

SINGLE DROP – STEP DECK TRAILER

CAN – 20’ OR 40’ CONTAINER

BOX TRAILER – 48’ OR 53’ VAN TRAILER

DEMURRAGE – DETENTION TIME

STRIPPING – DUNNAGE USED TO SEPARATE PIPE OR OTHER COMMODITIES

CHALKS – TRIANGLER PIECES OF WOOD OR METAL USED TO HOLD PIPE OR OTHER ROUND COMMODITIES

COVERED WAGON – CONASTOGA TRAILER; LOOKS LIKE A OLD FASHION COVERED WAGON

V-BOARDS – USED WITH PRODUCE OR DRUMMED MATERIAL.

PIPE STAKES – USUALLY 2 TO 4 FEET IN LENGTH MADE OF STEEL TO HOLD PIPE ON THE TRAILER

PROTECTORS – L SHAPED MADE OF WOOD OR STEEL USED TO PROTECT DELICATE MATERIAL FROM THE STRAPS.
